gendry:

She looked at their filthy hair and scraggly beards and reddened eyes, at their dry, cracked, bleeding lips. Wolves, she thought again. Like me. Was this her pack? How could they be Robb’s men? She wanted to hit them. She wanted to hurt them. She wanted to cry. They all seemed to be looking at her, the living and the dead alike.

The bars were too narrow to pass a cup through, but Harwin and Gendry offered her a leg up. She planted a foot in Harwin’s cupped hands, vaulted onto Gendry’s shoulders, and grabbed the bars on top of the cage. The fat man turned his face up and pressed his cheek to the iron, and Arya poured the water over him. He sucked at it eagerly and let it run down over his head and cheeks and hands, and then he licked the dampness off the bars. He would have licked Arya’s fingers if she hadn’t snatched them back. By the time she served the other two the same, a crowd had gathered to watch her.

– A Storm of Swords

Arya is confronted with a group of northmen who have killed and raped innocent people. She is disgusted by their behaviour, they are supposed to be Robb’s men, Stark men. And what does she do? She gives them mercy. She gives these dying men water because they are still wolves like her. She doesn’t try to kill them or harm them in any way, like D&D want you to believe.

Sigh

Do not curse Lyanna in Elia’s name. Do not erase Elia in Lyanna’s name. Do not use one woman’s suffering to belittle the other. Do not pit them against each other. Do not stomp over one for the sake of the other. Blame Rhaegar. Be angry at Rhaegar. He was the one who had all the power, not them.

Okay not exactly a “top 5” but, list one headcanon each for Rhaella, Elia, Ashara, Lyanna, and Joanna (that’s 5!)

rhaella:

  • rhaella: in the end, rhaella was disappointed in her son for doing such damage to the kingdoms and she swore to herself that when viserys was older she’d tell him about his father and brother but…… 😦
  • elia:  elia was very well-read, in part because during her times sick in bed reading was one of the only activities available to her (and she didn’t mind because she loved it). when rhaegar first met her he severely underestimated her during every conversation and he would always be completely dumbfounded whenever he would try to mansplain something to her and she proved she knew the topic better than he did.
  • ashara:  she was very musical.  she loved to sing and she was great at it.  she would often sing rhaenys to sleep when she was a little baby.
  • lyanna:  she idolized princess nymeria, just as her little niece arya eventually would
  • joanna:  she wanted to slap aerys in the face so badly every. single. day. she was in king’s landing.  and he wasn’t allowed to take many “unwonted liberties” before she really did smack him (luckily he was too intoxicated to remember.  part of the reason she was dismissed from rhaella’s service was that rhaella was terrified aerys would eventually find out or remember who left that bruise on his cheek)

I disagree strongly…”

THIS IS A WONDERFUL POST AND YOU SHOULD BE PROUD. Also I’d like to mention that they actually have a double dose of First Men blood. Through Betha, as you pointed out, but also Dyanna Dayne. That’s back-to-back generations of First Men blood, in fact.

YES. Oh gosh, how did I blank on Dyanna Dayne? *rolls eyes at myself for the forgetfulness* Thanks for the reminder, dear. I’ll edit my post.
